In an impactful initiative aimed at advancing women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) DC chapter met with a distinguished delegation from Bhutan on March 7, 2024. This collaboration is part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) by the U.S. Department of State, designed to enhance international relations and professional exchanges.

The Bhutanese delegation, featuring leading women from both the government and the private sector, is focused on exploring partnerships and learning opportunities with U.S. counterparts at various governmental levels. Their primary goal is to boost the presence and leadership of women in STEM areas, which directly aligns with NAWBO’s core mission of empowering female entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, participants discussed the significant role that women’s contributions and technological innovations play in driving industrial development, optimizing government functions, and expanding international trade opportunities.
